HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Parents of students at Ed White Middle School got a phone call Monday from the principal to alert them a student had brought a BB gun to school.
The student did not try to use the gun, and it’s not clear what kind of punishment he will face.
Keith Ward, spokesperson for Huntsville City Schools, said the gun was a small BB pistol-type gun. Ward did not say what grade the student is in, nor who found the gun.
Ward confirmed the principal sent out a phone call to parents to make sure they got the correct information on the situation. In the phone call, the principal urged parents to check their children’s backpacks to make sure kids aren’t bringing anything to school that is against policy.
