Huntsville Police Gearing Up With New Equipment

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT)-- After budget shortfalls prevented Huntsville Police from getting some much-needed new gear in past years, officers are finally being outfitted with new radios, firearms and police cars.

The new fleet of police units are the 2013 Ford Interceptor  which is a smaller frame than the old units but filled with new technology and safety features.

Huntsville police officers are also being issued new digital radios that can communicated with all local agencies. 

The department is reissuing 400 new Smith and Wesson M&P 9 mil.
