Miami Gardens, Fla. (WHNT) - A special thing happened after every Amari Cooper touchdown during the BCS National Championship Game. The first person to congratulate him was fellow wide receiver Kevin Norwood.
One of the offensive standouts of the 2011 title game, Norwood has battled through nagging injuries throughout the season. Meanwhile, the freshman Cooper made a name for himself, most notably with the game-winning catch in the SEC Championship Game.
Instead of getting jealous of Cooper's success, Norwood helped mentor the freshman. They have since become friends and both helped make Alabama's passing attack the most dominant one in the National Championship Game.
