DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) – We have new details on the latest arrest of Rolando McClain. Decatur Police arrested the former Crimson Tide star Tuesday following a traffic stop.
McClain now plays for the Oakland Raiders.
Officials with the Decatur Police Department say the officer pulled McClain over because of the tint on McClain’s car windows. The officer said he couldn’t see the driver at all because the windows were so dark, and this type of tint is illegal.
Police say McClain claimed to have a right to have his windows tinted at such a level.
The officer wrote McClain a ticket, and we’re told McClain signed with an expletive instead of his name.
At that point, police arrested McClain. He was booked into the Decatur City Jail and allowed to post bail and leave.
Police say if McClain really believed he had a legal right to have his windows tinted that dark, all he had to do was sign the ticket and then show up on his court date to appeal.
Charges were recently dropped against McClain for a fight in December of 2011.
