DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) – He’s not just a news anchor and journalist at WHNT News 19.  This Friday, January 11, Morgan County native Greg Screws will perform a benefit show for a place he spent many afternoons as a kid who loved movies.

The event is at 7:30 p.m. at The Princess Theatre in Decatur.  Tickets are $20 each and benefit the historic venue.

For better than 30 years, Greg has collected stories about living in Hartselle, working in television news, and observations about the world that swirls around him.

Many of those stories are funny.  Some of them have a very sharp point from which a gentle stick makes people think about the world swirling around them.

Greg will cover several topics that range from his concerns about the BCS Title game to being a new grandfather.

He also has plenty of stories from working in newsrooms in Birmingham, Richmond, Virginia and Huntsville.

And, as Greg will tell you, one of his favorite sayings is, “Right or wrong, I’m rarely in doubt.”

The Princess Theatre Center for the Performing Arts is located at 112 Second Avenue NE in Decatur.  You can call the Box Office at (256) 340-1778 or order tickets online.
