UPDATE: Suspect Caught In Tenn. Amber Alert, Child Safe
HOUSTON COUNTY, Tenn. (WHNT) – Tennessee authorities have canceled an Amber Alert for a 2-year-old boy. The child is safe, and his father is in custody.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says the driver of an 18-wheeler spotted the car Austin Whitehead and his son, Cael Whitehead, were in at approximately 2:30 p.m. The driver spotted him on Interstate 24 near Kimball, Tennessee, west of Chattanooga, and called 911.
Authorities pulled the car over and arrested 23-year-old Austin Whitehead. He is now in the Marion County, Tennessee Jail. The child is safe, TBI spokesperson Kristin Helm said.
