URS is seeking an Engineering Test Specialist to provide operational and administrative support to our government client in Huntsville, Alabama.This position is contigent and awaiting the contract to be awarded.Responsible for performing work involving the application of conventional, well-established engineering methods, procedures and techniques in such areas as research, design, development, testing, or manufacturing process improvement. Work pertains to electrical, electronic, or mechanical components or equipment, and of construction, maintenance, repair, alteration, and upkeep projects located throughout the installation. Assignments are characteristically similar to those previously worked on in the organization and are typically parts of broader assignments.
:1. Provide technical expertise to conduct a comprehensive analysis to evaluate the condition of systems supported by CCWS/PFRMS as part of RESET, REMAN, and LBE operations.2. Provide technical expertise to systematically analyze, develop, and recommend field testing procedures for troubleshooting and fault isolation under field operating environment constraints to prescreen equipment for the RESET/LBE/REMAN Program.3. Bring all systems up to the latest configuration (software and hardware), the SUBCONTRACTOR shall provide technical expertise to determine appropriate tasks required to deploy Modification Work Orders (MWO). Technical expertise will include MWOs for launchers, their platforms, support equipment and/or munitions.4. Provide advice concerning reliability and maintainability for US Army or Marine Corps systems supporting Homeland Defense missions. Analysis will be made to determine components or systems requiring greater than operator, organizational or intermediate levels of repair. All assets that are repaired shall be packaged for shipment in accordance with best commercial packaging instructions, as applicable. Items that are received in special reusable shipping and storage containers shall be packaged in applicable reusable shipping containers upon return.5. Assure that all materials that may be labeled as hazardous are handled in accordance with applicable local, state and federal environmental regulations. Provide training for personnel who handle such materials and maintain training and certification in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.6. Recommend disposition, i.e., estimated cost to repair, recommendations for cannibalization or transfer to a Government or Commercial Depot repair facility if item is Beyond Economical Repair (BER). Recommend innovative solutions regarding modifications for legacy systems which will reduce cost and improve efficiency.Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
