HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Sports apparel stores all one the Tennessee Valley are gearing up for the mad rush of fans ready to scoop up championship swag following Monday’s BCS title game in Miami. Alabama is of course no stranger to championship crystal and Hibbett Sports in Parkway Place Mall is no stranger to the fandom.

“This is not our first rodeo,” says store manager Marcus Routon.

If history proves consistent the sports store Tuesday morning will be just that; a rodeo. Routon says his team is prepared for the potential madness of fans trying to get their championship score shirts, but it will take more than the normal crew to handle the volume.

“We definitely have to bring in extra folks but most people are very understanding and patient with us as we try to find sizes and for everyone.”

The shirts remain boxed up in the back with strict instructions not to open until January 8. If Alabama comes out on top the Parkway Place Mall Hibbett location will open up at 8AM Tuesday. Routon recommends entering the mall through the rear entrance near Belk. The stand-alone location at 8650 Madison Boulevard will open up directly after the game Monday night if the Crimson Tide clenches a victory.

“This is great for business so we are more than happy to accommodate our customer’s needs,” says Routon.
