Mayor Upholds Decision To Fire Police Officer
The Muscle Shoals mayor upheld the firing of the police officer accused of shooting a deer while on duty.
During a review hearing with Mayor David Bradford, attorneys say Greg Scoggins apologized for his actions.
Mayor Bradford says he reviewed letters from Scoggins’ supervisors and the police chief when making his decision, as well as statements directly from Scoggins.
Attorneys for Scoggins say they are disappointed with the mayors’ decision, and plan to make a case in front of the Muscle Shoals Civil Service Board.
Scoggins has ten days to appeal.
