HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Workers have made repairs to get the flags flying again at Veterans Memorial Park in downtown Huntsville.
The flags were down during the week of Christmas, and until January 3 due to a few issues — mainly, because the cable on the large American flag had broken on December 24.
Because of the wind and the lack of the large flag, the city took all flags down until a team could make repairs.
Due to rainy weather and the holiday break, the repair was delayed until this week, but on Thursday, the ground had dried out enough for workers to fix the cable.
