Local Family Provides Christmas Dinner For First Responders
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — Christmas Day and the pagers were sounding inside HEMSI Headquarters in Huntsville because calls for help do not take holidays.
Most of the paramedics working Christmas volunteered, allowing others time off to be with their families, according to HEMSI shift supervisor Cindy Wilson.
The crews were treated to a full dinner served at headquarters by Robert Ritchie and his family.
“We wanted to give back to them because of all the things they do for us and our community,” Ritchie said.
HEMSI responded to several motor vehicle wrecks and transports throughout the day.
