(WHNT) — The threat for severe storms is extremely low for the Tennessee Valley, but heavy rain is expected for the rest of the evening.
Steady rain is tapering off in the Shoals, but remains in the forecast along and east of I-65.
The threat of heavy rain continues this evening and overnight mainly over eastern sections as a surface low lifts closer towards the region and eventually drags a cold front across the Tennessee Valley.
There is severe weather going on in South Alabama. Active tornado warnings have been issued in South Alabama and damage is being reported.
There has been a confirmed tornado in Choctaw County, with two mobile homes destroyed near Scott Mountain.
Ten mobile homes have been reported damaged in Stone County, MS.
