Decatur Mayor Hands Over His Keys To Fire Department
DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) — One of the first things newly elected Decatur mayor Don Kyle did this month was to hand over the keys to the mayors issued vehicle to the fire department.
The mayor says the vehicle was too much vehicle for what he believes are the needs for a mayor and the SUV is better suited for the fire department.
The $21,000 red Ford Flex crossover former Decatur Mayor Don Stanford asked for when he was in office is now being retrofitted for official fire department use.
Mayor Kyle will still receive a fuel kickback for his personal vehicle use while on official duty.
