Both Notre Dame and Alabama are beginning preparations this week for the BCS National Championship Game.
It may seem like the January 7th contest will be a defensive battle. Both the Irish and Crimson Tide are among the best in every major defensive category. The stat though that seemingly is getting the most attention for Alabama is its rushing defense. They average allowing fewer than 80 yards a game and, for the season, they allowed nine rushing touchdowns.
Notre Dame's response is to make quarterback Everett Golson throw the ball more frequently and for big chunks.
