Tools for Teachers Donna Freeze

FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) – Donna Freeze is a Special Education Teacher at the Florence Freshman Center. Sheena Blaxton nominated Donna with the following note:

Donna Freeze has been teaching Special Education since 1979. Donna is giving, patient, kind hearted, and inspirational for everyone, including her students. She makes learning as interesting as possible. In November 2009, she was the Arc of the Shoals teacher of the year. She won the Florence Freshmen Center teacher of the year for the 2011-2012 school year, along with Florence City Schools award of excellence in April 2012. Donna always has a smiling face in the hallway that lights up the mood for the students and staff of Florence Freshmen Center. If she is having a bad day, you would never be able to tell. Her positive spirit and outgoing personality make her a pleasure to be around inside and outside of the work environment. On top of her many skills, Donna also spends 3 nights a week teaching alternative school at the Florence Learning Center located on the Burrell Slater campus. She spends a lot of time outside of school hours helping her students succeed. She is a hard worker, and I think it would be a great reward for her to have.
