ATHENS, Ala. (WHNT) – Limestone County sheriff’s investigators served a search warrant at Jabo’s Automotive on Highway 72 west of Athens Friday afternoon, seizing 8 illegal gambling devices, several hundred dollars in cash, and making two arrests.

“We had received several complaints about gambling activities taking place here,” Sheriff Mike Blakely told WHNT News 19.

The business owner, Monroe Jefferson Kyle, 55, of Athens, was taken into custody and charged with promoting gambling. A customer present at the time of the raid late Friday afternoon, John David Williams, 38, of Carter’s Mobile Home Park, Athens, was also arrested and charged with possession of marijuana.
