Madison Academy Celebrates State Title

Madison, Ala. (WHNT) – The bus ride from Auburn to Madison probably didn’t seem too long after the Mustangs did something no other football team has ever done.

Thursday afternoon, Madison Academy knocked off Fayette County 31-7 to become the first team from Madison County to win a football state championship since Alabama began holding playoffs in 1966.

It’s also the school’s first football state championship.

The Mustangs say several players from other schools, including rival teams, congratulated them and hoped they could make history.
