HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT)-- Westminster Christian Academy interim head master Ron Klein says Tuesday the middle and high school campus experienced over 50 student absentees; that is nearly fifteen percent of the student body.

Administrators decided to shut down Thursday afternoon and remain closed Friday while teachers and staff disinfect any area within the school that is frequently touched. Klein says the temporary delay in classes will hopefully prevent further contagion and allow the weekend for student and teachers to get well.

Ron Klein says Westminster has not experienced the sharp uptick in absent students at their elementary campus. They plan to reopen the middle and high school buildings up for classes again Monday.
