Shoals Brothers Appear In Court

FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) - Two brothers appeared before a Lauderdale County judge on Friday morning.  One is charged with murder and the other is charged with helping him get on the run.

Shannon and Jerry Brewer appeared before Lauderdale County District Judge Carol Medley. They stood as the judge read their charges.  Shannon Brewer is charged with murder.  His bond is set at $1 million.  He did not have an attorney appointed.

Jerry Brewer is charged with theft of property.  His bond is set at $100,000, and he did have an attorney appointed to represent him.

Detectives say Shannon Brewer stabbed Mark Allen Dishon to death nearly two weeks ago.  Investigators believe Jerry helped steal a car to get Shannon out of the area.

U.S. Marshals caught the brothers in Tallahassee, Florida the next day.

Lauderdale County investigators tell us both brothers admitted to their involvement when questioned in Florida.
