Emergency Communications District Sues Knology

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Huntsville-Madison County Emergency Communications District has filed a class action complant against Knology.
     The 911 board is seeking uncollected “9-1-1 charges,” that could exceed $5 million dollars.
     The board claims every phone capable of calling 911, should be charged an emergency fee. 
     That cost is $2.19 for each residential line.
     The board also has a pending lawsuit filed about six months ago against Magic Jack for the same reasons as Knology.
