DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) – West Decatur Elementary School went on lockdown Tuesday afternoon as authorities looked for a burglary suspect.

Decatur Police, along with Limestone County Sheriff’s deputies, went to a house looking for 21-year old Orlandos Deloney, a suspect in a string of residential burglaries in Limestone County. Deloney was one of three men featured in a story on WHNT News 19 last week.

Police say Deloney was believed to be armed, and apparently ran from police. The area was near West Decatur Elementary, and school officials locked the facility down as a precaution.

Deloney briefly eluded officers but he was taken into custody around 6PM without further incident. He has been transferred to the Limestone County Jail.
