Florence Police Arrest Man For Pharmacy Robbery

FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) — Florence Police responded to an armed robbery Tuesday morning at Tim’s Discount Drugs on Helton Road.

Investigators say John Steven Balentine walked into the store and demanded prescription pills with a gun.

Detectives recovered about 100 pills, but the gun has not been found.

Balentine is charged with robbery.

Florence High School was placed on lockdown as a precautionary measure.

The lockdown was lifted around 11:30 a.m. when Florence Police caught the suspect.
