How NCAA Investigation Could Affect Contract Buyout

Auburn, Ala. (WHNT) – It’s hard to tell how long it will take the NCAA to investigate potential violations involving the recruitment of Memphis product Jovon Robinson.  It’s possible Auburn may decide Gene Chizik’s fate well before the organization renders its verdict.

Still, the results could affect how much money Chizik is owed if he is fired.  In his contract, the Auburn head coach can be fired with cause if he was involved in “significant or repetitive violations of NCAA regulations”.
