Police Hope Surveillance Video Will Help Them Arrest Peeping Tom
MADISON, Ala. (WHNT) – Madison Police continue to ask for the public’s help in identifying a man they say was taking pictures with his cell phone of a woman in a store’s dressing room. Police say it happened at the Target store in Madison.
Target released video recorded at its Madison store earlier this month. The video shows a man walking in and out of the store and someone driving a car out of the parking lot.
“We are hoping someone will recognize the individual, report that to us, so we can apprehend them and hopefully prevent something like this from happening again,” said Madison Police Lieutenant Terrell Cook.
Lt. Cook believes the man behind the wheel of the dark-colored car and talking on a phone while walking outside the store is a peeping tom.
“It looks calculated. They know the reason they were going in there. It appears they were not going in there to shop and they knew exactly what they were going to do,” added Lt. Cook.
Lt. Cook says the man in the video reached over a dressing room stall and used a cellphone to take pictures of a woman undressing.
Investigators believe the man is in his 30s or 40s.
“The challenge is identifying the subject and finding out who they are,” added Lt. Cook.
They hope the video can provide more detailed information about the man.
If you can identify the man, you are asked to call Madison Police at 256-772-6243.
