LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — Investigators say an argument in Lauderdale County ended with one man getting shot.

Emergency crews responded to the 500 block of County Road 608, south of Rogersville  just after 10:00 Wednesday morning.

Paramedics rushed the victim, Jerry Gray out of his home with a gunshot wound.

“This started yesterday when one of the guys got in an altercation, and pulled a feeding tube out of the other guy, he’s real sick,” explained Lauderdale County investigator, Travis Clemmons.

Investigators say the victim in this shooting, was the one who pulled out the feeding tube of the alleged shooter.

After Jerry Fuqua got out of the hospital from getting his feeding tube re-inserted, investigators say Fuqua went to the victim’s house with a group of men.

Detectives say Fuqua fired several gunshots and at least one bullet hit Gray.

“He seemed to be seeking revenge from what happened yesterday,” said Clemmons.

Deputies say Fuqua left the scene, but was later found at his home.

After searching the area, investigators found two pistols in a wooded area behind Fuqua’s house.

“He did admit to doing it,” said Clemmons.

Since Fuqua’s health is in such bad condition, his family transported the man to the Lauderdale County courthouse, where he turned himself in.

Fuqua has been booked on assault charges.

Detectives say the victim, Jerry Gray may also face charges for pulling out Fuqua’s feeding tube.
