Chris Comer Wins Circuit Judgeship
HUNTSVILLE, Ala.(WHNT)- Chris Comer won a judgeship in Madison County on his 40th birthday. Comer, a Republican, defeated Democrat Martha Lynn Sherrod, who is a current district judge.
“Very very happy,” Comer said after his win. “Very humbled by the support and the help we’ve received throughout this process.”
With 100% of the votes in, Comer defeated Sherrod by a margin of 57% to 43%. Comer will replace retiring judge Jim Smith.
“First off, it’s an awesome opportunity to serve, ” Comer said. “It’s a great platform to serve folks in their times of crisis. And just feel like it’s a calling.”
Comer will take office in January.
