Two Separate ATV Accidents In Limestone County Keep Med-Flight Busy

ATHENS, Ala. (WHNT) – Two separate ATV accidents in Limestone County Saturday resulted in two people being flown to the hospital` for treatment.

The first occurred just after noon when a rider was thrown from his 4-wheeler. It happened on private property just off Dupree Hollow Road in western Limestone County. Authorities tell WHNT News 19 the rider was initially knocked unconscious but was conscious and alert when he was moved from an ambulance to a waiting helicopter. He was transported to Huntsville Hospital with what were described as non-life threatening injuries.

The second mishap occurred at approximately 2PM on Cambridge Lane, just east of Athens. A 14-year old rider was thrown from his ATV when two wheels left the roadway as he was riding on the street. The youngster was thrown from the vehicle. He was flown from the scene with what were described as serious injuries.
