Record Number of Madison County Citizens Registered To Vote

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – There is a great deal of interest in next Tuesday’s election — just be prepared to wait when you go to the polls.

A record number of Madison County citizens are registered to vote in the November 6 election.  The final count is 233,840, according to Lynda Hairston of the Madison County Board of Registrars.  In 2008, there were 212,574 registered voters for the Presidential election.

If you have any question about your voter registration status or voting location, visit AlabamaVotes.gov.  You can enter your name, date of birth and county and get information right away.

Monday, November 5 is the last day to hand-deliver an absentee ballot or to get it postmarked.  November 1 was the deadline to request an absentee ballot.  In all, 10,675 absentee ballots were requested in Madison County.
