Group Asks For Volunteers To Help Prepare Wreaths For Veterans
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – A local group that honors fallen veterans is asking for volunteers to help with the annual effort to lay wreaths on their graves.
The group lays the wreaths on the graves in mid-November and then removes them in January. Here are the dates to mark down if you’re interested. All events are held rain or shine.
Wreath Preparation
Dates: Monday and Tuesday, November 5-6, 9:30 a.m.
Location: 2102 West Ferry Way (located on the west side of Leeman Ferry Road)
The building is the second on right on West Ferry. This is where wreaths will be prepared.
Wreath Placement
Dates: Wednesday and Thursday, November 14-15, 9:30 a.m.
Locations: Wednesday–Maple Hill Cemetery, 202 Maple Hill Street
Thursday – Valhalla Cemetery, 698 Winchester Road
Ceremony to Honor Veterans
Date: – Saturday, 15 December, 11 a.m.
Location: Maple Hill Cemetery
Removing Wreaths
Dates: Tuesday and Wednesday, January 8-9, 9:30 a.m.
Location: Tuesday – Maple Hill Cemetery
Wednesday – Valhalla Cemetery
