Jermaine Hough Named National Freshman Of The Week

Jacksonville, Ala. - Jacksonville State’s Jermaine Hough was named the National Freshman of the Week by The Sports Network, the organization announced on Monday.
 
Hough had two interceptions to help Jacksonville State claim a 31-28 overtime win over No. 17 Tennessee State on Saturday to snap the Tigers’ seven-game winning streak.
 
The Lovejoy, Ga., native intercepted TSU’s Michael German on the third play of the game which led to a Gamecock touchdown nine plays later as the Gamecocks took an early 7-0 lead.
 
Hough, who also finished with three tackles in the game, recorded his second interception with just 6:07 left in regulation and returned it 14 yards to end a Tennessee State drive.
 
Jacksonville State returns to action this Saturday against Murray State. The Homecoming kickoff is set for 3:00 PM at Burgess-Snow Field.
