TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- Big news out of the University of Alabama.  As of right now, all fraternity pledge activities have been suspended.  That's according the University's student-run newspaper, The Crimson White.

The CW tweeted a few quotes from UA's Assistant Dean of Students on this matter that pretty much sums it all up.

Dr. Lowell Davis told The Crimson White "No 'Hell Week' is to take place."

Dr. Davis is also quoted as saying "The pledge program is over. It's not going to be brought back. It's done."

Dr. Davis is quoted as saying "it is a new day at the University with a new president."  He goes on to say "We can't allow the things that have taken place in the past to continue."
