HACKLEBURG, Ala. (WHNT) – There is good news in the search for a missing 10-year-old boy with down syndrome.  Shortly after 10 a.m. teams found Kyle Camp alive.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office confirms Camp is okay.

Camp was reported missing around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday from his family’s home along County Road 48, between Hamilton and Hackleburg in Marion County.

The area is very wooded, and includes several hunting camps.  The search went on all night, with helicopters and dogs involved.

Camp was found about 100 to 200 yards from his family’s home.  He was happy and smiling, according to someone close to the situation.  Camp was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital to be checked.

Camp is a student at Hackleburg Elementary School.
