Tuscaloosa, Ala. – The top-ranked Alabama football team returned to the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields Monday afternoon to begin preparations for the upcoming game against Tennessee.
Saturday’s game marks the 94th matchup between the Crimson Tide and Volunteers, with Alabama having won the past five games while leading the series 48-38-7.
“Games like this are more about the rivalry and less about people’s record,” said Alabama head coach Nick Saban. “Tennessee has a really good offensive team. It’s always a challenge to play on the road. They are a very well-coached team. Derek (Dooley) has done a good job there. This game means a lot to a lot of people. Certainly it means a lot to me and to us. I think our players will work hard this week to get ready to play the best football.”
After his performance against Missouri last weekend, junior linebacker C.J. Mosley was named the Southeastern Conference Defensive Player of the Week. Mosley notched a team-high 12 tackles, nine of which were solo.
Kickoff for Saturday’s game is slated for 6 p.m. CT.
