FBI Investigates Terrorist Threat At Grocery Store In Arab

ARAB, Ala. (WHNT) – The FBI has spent time recently in Marshall County investigating a possible terrorist threat.  The threat was in a unique location and was targeted at a city hundreds of miles from the Tennessee Valley.

The message was left at the Foodland Grocery Store on Highway 231 in Arab.  The FBI is still sorting out the details, but says it was specific.  The message was found inside the men’s restroom.

The Foodland manager told The Arab Tribune he believes it might have been there as long as a week before it was noticed.  The FBI was called in because of the specifics of the threat.

The message reportedly named a real air marshal who is based in Florida.  It also claimed there would be some type of terrorist attack in Chicago in December.

FBI agents have been to Arab twice to interview some store employees.  So far, no arrest has been made.

The FBI says shoppers at Foodland shouldn’t have any concerns.

Arab has had other odd connections to terrorism-related topics.  After the attacks of September 11, 2001, searches for Arab, Alabama spiked heavily on search engines like Google.
