Child Dies After Hit-and-Run In Lauderdale County; Driver Charged
LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) — A suspect has been arrested for the alleged hit-and-run death of a 13-year-old boy in Lauderdale County.
According to investigators, the accident happened around the Underwood area just past 8:00 p.m. Monday.
The boy who was hit, Da’Santo Ingram, was taken by ambulance to Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital where he later died. Ingram was a 7th grader at Central School.
James Oneal Wilson, 42, was arrested around 1:00 a.m. Tuesday. He is charged with leaving the scene of an accident with an injury/fatality. He was driving a 1984 Chevrolet C10 silver pickup truck.
Wilson is being held in the Lauderdale County Detention Center.
