Traffic Moving Again On I-565 Following Two Wrecks Near Sparkman

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – Traffic is moving smoothly again in both directions on I-565 west. It was stalled for nearly two hours Wednesday due to at least two wrecks in the westbound lanes near Sparkman Drive.

The first wreck happened just before 12:30 p.m. approaching Sparkman, on I-565.   Huntsville Police say two SUVs were involved, a Ford Excursion and a GMC Envoy.   flipped.  Both vehicles overturned. 

One person was thrown from a vehicle, and three people were taken to Huntsville Hospital, two males and a female.  Police say the victims should recover from their injuries.

A second wreck happened further back in the westbound lanes, approaching the initial scene.
