Facebook has launched a new Gifts service, allowing you to purchase goods and gifts right through the social network.
Select users got first crack at the service last Thursday and it will continue to roll out to more people in the coming months.
Facebook has joined with retailers like Starbucks, 1-800-Flowers, Gund, and Magnolia Bakery for the effort.
The gift feature will now appear underneath a friend’s birthday on the social networking site. You can click the “give a gift” option, select your favorite item and then pay. The recipient can then unwrap a preview of the gift and even swap it for a different size, flavor or style before it’s mailed.
Facebook went public in May and its stock price has struggled mightily since.
