Football Returns Outdoors For Florida Atlantic Preparations
Tuscaloosa, Ala. - The Alabama football team (3-0) returned outdoors as it continued preparations for Florida Atlantic (1-2) Wednesday afternoon at the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields.
“The players have really responded well this week,” said Alabama head coach Nick Saban. “We’ve had better intensity and focus in practice. The big point of emphasis we tried to make today was developing those habits, so you can finish things the way you want to finish them.”
Alabama senior center Barrett Jones was named to the 2012 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team, the organization announced. The Good Works Team recognizes players’ community service. Fans can vote for the AFCA Good Works Team captain by visiting ESPN.com.
Jones has been a staple of service across the globe as it includes two mission trips to Haiti and one to Nicaragua, aiding in the Tuscaloosa tornado cleanup efforts and regularly visiting sick children in the hospital. Last season, he garnered the ASA Sportsmanship award and the Wuerffel Trophy.
Saturday’s game is slated for a 4 p.m. (CDT) kickoff and will be televised on a pay-per-view basis.
