Traffic Blocked In Courtland After Train & Truck Collide

COURTLAND, Ala. (WHNT) – Traffic in downtown Courtland is blocked at several intersections after a train collided with a large truck on Tuesday afternoon.

The truck, which belongs to the West Morgan East Lawrence Water Authority, was headed south on College Street around 2 p.m.  The train was headed east on the tracks, and hit the dump truck square in the middle.

The driver of the truck had serious injuries and was flown to Huntsville Hospital.

The train has been stopped since the collision, and is blocking several intersections in Courtland.
