FLORENCE, Ala. (WHNT) - We saw record rain in Huntsville and the Shoals on Monday afternoon and evening.  The downpour led to flooding in Florence and Muscle Shoals.

Huntsville got 3.69 inches of rain on Monday and Muscle Shoals had 3.09 inches.

Many roads are still flooded today.  Please do not drive through standing water.  A few inches of water can quickly sweep your car away.

Several parking lots flooded in Muscle Shoals, especially along Woodward Avenue.  Cars were in water outside of Southgate Shopping Center as well.

Florence Fire & Rescue rescued three young men in a truck on Broadway Street around 2 p.m. Monday.  There were also several spots on the University of North Alabama campus with high water.
