Human Case of West Nile Virus Confirmed In Madison County
MADISON COUNTY, Ala. (WHNT) – There has been a confirmed case of West Nile Virus in Madison County.
Dr. Debra Williams with the Madison County Health Department says the person is a 57-year-old man. The case was reported last week, and the man said he got sick in August.
The man said he was bit by a mosquito in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. He is doing well now, Williams said.
Williams said this is the only confirmed case for Madison County so far, although “lots of testing has been done,” she said.
