Federal Investigators Remove Property From Huntsville-Based S3
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – On Thursday and Friday, federal investigators were seen removing boxes from Huntsville-based System, Studies and Simulation, Incorporated. The company, known S3, is located on Discovery Drive and specializes in defense contracting.
The investigators would not say why they were there. The scene outside S3 showed workers in dark uniforms, with wording suggesting they were from a federal agency.
WHNT NEWS 19 called S3 to try to get someone to speak about the matter. The employee who answered Friday did not comment. Over the weekend, S3 posted this message on its website:
“S3 is cooperating fully with a recent Government request for information. We continue to support our many Government customers, our 200+ subcontractors, and our 500+ employees without interruption or degradation of performance. S3 complies with contractual performance requirements for many federal agencies as detailed on this website. We see no further impacts to communications or business operations as we move forward with the same quality of professional services, fairness, and dedication for which we are known.”
WHNT News 19 also called local and state law enforcement officers and left a message with the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
WHNT NEWS 19 also called and emailed the U.S. Army’s Criminal Investigation Command, since S3 is a defense contractor. A spokesman provided this statement:
“In regards to your query, it is the policy of the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command to neither confirm nor deny the existence of an investigation of individuals or companies unless individuals have been formally charged.”
