Catholic High’s Volleyball Team Raises Money For ALS Research
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – A local high school team is making sure David McKannan isn’t forgotten.
Thursday night, the Pope John Paul II Catholic High School volleyball team presented an $1,100 check to the ALS Foundation. The team raised the money in honor of McKannan.
Maureen McKannan, David’s wife, is the team’s head coach. She couldn’t be with the team on Thursday night but said the family was very thankful.
The team raised the money by holding a bake sale. People truly gave from their hearts.
“We had a little table set up with donuts and water and stuff and candy for whoever donated so they could get something,” said player Bethany Johnson. “It was just out of the kindness of everyone’s hearts that they helped. We love each other so much and we love our coach and we love David McKannan.”
