Video of the Day: Koala in a Canoe

According to research, koala bears rarely get out of the trees they live in.  They get most of the moisture from the leaves they eat.  

So for this guy to be out and swim in a boat is a little odd. 

Koalas live in eastern Australia, where the eucalyptus trees they love are most plentiful. 

Koalas need a lot of space — about a hundred trees per animal.  That’s a pressing problem as Australia’s woodlands continue to shrink.
