(WHNT) – Call it a celestial tip of the cap to Neil Armstrong’s historic accomplishment. On Friday, August 31 we got the opportunity to see a blue moon. It just so happens to coincide with a private service for Armstrong.
A blue moon, by definition, is the second full moon of the month. It’s not actually blue, but it was certainly beautiful and bright. Many of you saw it at high school football games on Friday night. The next blue moon won’t be until July 2015.
