Daikin Acquires Texas Company in $3.7 Billion Deal
DECATUR, Ala. (WHNT) – Daikin, a company with a plant in Decatur, signed a deal worth $3.7 billion to acquire a company in Texas with 4,500 employees.
This week, Daikin reached a deal to acquire Goodman Global Group, Inc. in Houston.
In a press release from Goodman, a company spokesman says the move brings together some of the strongest players in the global heating, ventilation and air conditioning marketplace.
Daikin held a signing ceremony at its headquarters in Osaka, Japan on Wednesday.
Goodman’s products are predominantly marketed under the brand names Goodman and Amana.
Daikin has more than 44,000 employees worldwide, including hundreds at its plant in Decatur.
