Governor Bentley Lifts Mandatory Evacuation Orders for Alabama Gulf Coast
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WHNT) – Governor Robert Bentley on Tuesday lifted mandatory evacuation orders covering southern Baldwin and Mobile counties, and issued voluntary orders for areas vulnerable to Isaac’s expected impact.
“While the hurricane warning has been lifted, we don’t want people to let down their guard,” Bentley said in a news release. “Remember that Isaac is still expected to bring tropical storm-force winds and heavy rains, and storm surge is still expected in certain areas,” Bentley said.

The decision was based on updated forecast models that have Isaac moving further to the west.
