Hartselle’s Bradford Pear Trees to Come Down

HARTSELLE, Ala. (WHNT) –   If you’ve ever driven down Highway 31 into Hartselle, you’ve probably noticed all of the Bradford Pear Trees in the highway median. More than 100 of the trees line a six-mile stretch of roadway.

But they’re coming down soon. The Alabama Department of Transportation says the trees violate federal guidelines for safe highways and they have to go. WHNT News 19′s Jerry Hayes has our story.
