HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) – As the race for mayor wraps up, the final financial picture begins to solidify as well.

WHNT News 19 can confirm Loretta Spencer donated another $50,000 dollars to her own campaign.

The money got turned around quickly to Lewis Advertising.

Our news partner The Huntsville Times reports that money covered Spencer’s campaign commercial, which is airing on local stations.

WHNT News 19 confirms in this month’s finance reports, Spencer spent just over $68,000 on advertising.

WHNT News 19 found Battle spent just under $43,000 on advertising in the same time period.

The Times says Spencer provided $105,000 of her nearly $125,000 in campaign funds, and Mayor Tommy Battle has raised more than $345,000 dollars, all of it from outside sources.

Friday’s finance reports show Spencer has $17,000 dollars left, Battle has $124,000 left, and Jackie Reed reported that her campaign coffers have run dry.
