Man Dies After Northbound Truck Flips into Southbound Lane

ATHENS, Ala. (WHNT) – A man is dead, and a woman is fighting for her life after an wreck on I-65 Thursday night.
It hapened around 11:30, near the Browns Ferry Road exit in Limestone County. According to deputies, a pickup truck and car were headed north on I-65 when the car rear ended the truck, sending it into the median. The truck then flipped and landed in the middle of I-65 southbound.
Two people were inside the truck. The male driver was pinned inside, and rescue workers had to use the jaws of life to cut him out. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman in the truck with him was taken by medflight to Huntsville Hospital. The driver of the car was the only person in his vehicle. He was not injured. Alabama state troopers are investigating.
